Support Information for Document Processing
A fee may be payable for some document processing. Refer the fees listed separately.
LEGALISATION (CERTIFICATION)
Birth, Marriage, Medical, & School Certificates
The Honorary Consulate can legalise Birth, Marriage, and School/education certificates or records for Indonesian nationals. Bahasa Indonesia/English translations are also available.
Medical certificates are provided to visitors to Indonesia who require special medication or health care products. Such a certificate is based on a confirming letter from the person’s doctor or professionally accredited health practitioner.
There is not a problem with basic medications and health products for personal use. However, where drugs or items are prescribed and normally are not available “over the counter,” a Medical certificate should be obtained. This also applies to travelling with medications in larger than normal quantities.
Business & Trade Documents
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, the Honorary Consul for SA has the authority to legalise documents whose authenticity has been attested to by a public notary or duly empowered official.
This covers documents used in business transactions and attesting to a person’s or organisation’s status in law, including:
Power of Attorney assignment, Authorisation letter, Trade Mark registration, Trade contract or agreement, and Certificate of origin.
INDONESIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS
Report On Arrival
Indonesian citizens on an extended visit to or commencing permanent residency or studies in Australia must report their arrival to the nearest Representative of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. Passport must be submitted with the completed form.
Change Of Address
If an Indonesian non-government passport holder has been living in Australia for six months continuously, then the Australian address can be entered into that person’s passport. This provides exemption from paying fiscal tax whenever exiting Indonesia. The exemption is valid for as long as the person continues to reside in Australia. If the person moves to a different address, application must be made for a new Change of Address entry.
The completed application form must be submitted with the passport and proof of the person’s address and period of residency in Australia, eg copy of Bank Statement, Australian Driver’s Licence, telephone or power bill, study enrolment notice, or rent payment record.
Permanent Return Letter
Indonesian nationals who have had residency or have finished their studies in Australia and are returning permanently to Indonesia, can apply for a Permanent Return letter. This letter with an accompanying declaration by the passport holder provides exemption from tax on personal study materials and belongings purchased in Australia. The completed documentation must be submitted with the person’s passport.
Letters of Recommendation
On request, the Honorary Consulate can provide Indonesian passport holders with letters of recommendation for various purposes, including good character reference and attesting to their place of study or program of education. A service fee is payable.
TRANSLATION / INTERPRETING
The Honorary Consulate provides Bahasa Indonesia/English translations of marriage, birth, and education certificates as well as other documents. There is a standard fee per page, but if the information to be translated is complex or technically detailed a higher rate will apply. Interpreting services are also available. If these are required for business/commercial purposes, a charge will be made.
